About the Owner

Logistics that is dedicated to your company

Welcome to Sea Wave Services. I’m Matt Herwig, and I founded this company with a simple philosophy: there is no “good enough” when you are out on the water or the open road.

My fascination with how things work started early—just ask my mother. From a young age, I would take everything apart to see how it worked or try to “make it better.” That curiosity led to four years of electronics study in high school and sparked a lifelong passion for technical systems—a passion I carried onto the flight deck of the USS Nimitz during the Gulf War.

As a Navy Jet Engine Mechanic working on A-6 Intruders, I learned that attention to detail isn’t just a skill; it’s a survival requirement. In aviation, if a system fails, you can’t just pull over. I bring that same military aviation-grade discipline to every project at Sea Wave Services.

From the Flight Deck to the Foredeck: The Sea Wave Story

Welcome to Sea Wave Services. I’m Matt Herwig, and I founded this company with a simple philosophy: there is no “good enough” when you are out on the water or the open road.

After my service, I spent the next 25 years as a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain. I’ve run yachts all over the world, encountering every type of sea condition imaginable. I wasn’t just navigating the vessel; I was managing complex onboard systems. I know the frustration of failing electrical systems, the stress of a dark navigation screen, and the absolute necessity of reliable power.

Now, I’ve retired from professional captaining to drop anchor and focus on this new chapter. Starting Sea Wave Services allows me to take my years of technical experience at sea to create peace of mind for you and your family, while allowing me to stay local to spend time with my twin sons, Lucas and Zachary.
